Posturology is a branch of medicine that deals with the research and treatment of traumatic and non-traumatic causes that lead to painful symptoms in the musculoskeletal system, considering the postural system as a whole.
The postgraduate degree course Posturologia clinica provides advanced theoretical knowledge and specific technical skills to professionals from various disciplines — graduates in medicine and surgery, dentistry, rehabilitation health professions, and sports science — whose wok involve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of postural issues.
In particular, this course offers specialised lifelong training in posturology and promotes theoretical and practical learning of the latest innovations in the field of posture, therapy, education and postural rehabilitation.
Modern posturology allows for a better understanding of the origin of many functional pathologies of the musculoskeletal system. Research in neurophysiopathology, anatomy, biomechanics and clinical experience currently allow for a more immediate identification of the etiology of many osteo-myofascial symptoms.
Career opportunities
The postgraduate degree course trains professionals who can work in public and/or private facilities where a posturology service is available for the prevention, diagnosis, functional assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders related to postural imbalances.
