The postgraduate degree course in Basic and Advanced Strategies for Individual and Herd Health Management trains professionals with expertise in cattle health management, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases in dairy and beef cattle.  

The practical approach fosters a comprehensive preparation through the analysis of clinical cases and data, enabling practitioners to implement health monitoring, prevention and management programmes using advanced diagnostic techniques and specialised software tools.  

The course includes both theoretical modules and practical sessions covering all aspects of individual and herd health management, such as udder and metabolic health, calf care, fertility, nutrition, biosecurity and foot diseases.  At the end of the course, practitioners will be able to manage complex disease scenarios and implement effective monitoring and management plans to preserve animal health. 

Career opportunities

The postgraduate degree course trains highly qualified professionals in cattle health management at both individual and herd levels, providing them with expertise in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases.
