Non-curricular traineeships

The non-curricular traineeship programme is designed for those who have already obtained a degree, a doctoral degree, or a post-graduate degree. It is a period of training in a public or private institution aimed at facilitating career choices through direct experience of the world of work.

Duration

The non-curricular traineeship programme can last from a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 12 months, including extensions (also for disadvantaged persons as defined by the Law 381/91).
This period is extended to 24 months for people with disabilities, in accordance with Art. 1(1), L. 68/99.

Allowance

In Tuscany, the institution where the non-curricular traineeship programme takes place must pay a minimum allowance of EUR 600 per month.
In other regions, the minimum allowance is EUR 300 per month.

Entry requirements

You must have obtained a qualification (Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree, doctoral Degree or post-graduate Degree) within 24 months.

Activation of extra-curricular traineeships

In order to activate a traineeship programme, it is necessary for the host party (the entity where the traineeship programme takes place) to sign an agreement with the University of Pisa (the promoting party). Activation methods vary depending on whether they take place in Tuscany or in another region.

Training project

The training project must be developed for each extra-curricular traineeship programme. It must include details of the trainee, the company tutor and the academic tutor, the training objectives of the programme, the location, the duration, the planned weekly and total hours, and the insurance cover.

Final documentation

At the end of the traineeship programme, the company tutor must write a final report certifying the training objectives achieved by the trainee. The final report, together with the attendance register and the final questionnaire, must be submitted to the competent office.
