The delegates of the departments involved periodically organise personalised teaching activities designed to meet the educational needs of students in detention. Since 2018, the University of Pisa has launched several special teaching projects focusing on prison-related topics.
Among the cultural initiatives promoted by the University of Pisa within the Prison University Centre is the “Seminars at Don Bosco” programme, launched in the academic year 2005–2006. These seminars have been, and continue to be, an important opportunity for dialogue and debate between lecturers and detained students on current issues for further enriching the relational dimension of study.
In recent years, the Prison University Centre of Pisa has promoted innovative teaching projects aimed at developing possible pathways towards social inclusion for detained persons, within a broader framework that values the relational dimension of study and cultural activities.
