The Pisa PUP has contributed to the creation of, and has been part of since its foundation, theNational Conference of Rectors’ Delegates for Penitentiary University Centres (CNUPP) , established at the CRUI on April 9, 2018. This body represents the formalization of the coordination of those responsible for university education activities in prisons.
Currently, 44 universities are involved, more than 1,500 students are enrolled, and teaching, research, and third mission activities concern over 100 penitentiary institutions located across almost the entire national territory.
The Governing Board is coordinated by the Delegate of the University of Turin, together with the Rectors’ Delegates of the Universities of Naples Federico II, Padua, Pisa (Prof. Andrea Borghini), and Sassari.
