You can register for open-admission Master’s Degree Courses from 24 July to 31 December 2025.
If you graduate from the University of Pisa after 31 December 2025, you may apply for pre-enrolment in the academic year 2026/2027 by enrolling in Transition Courses.
If you are enrolled in the Transition Courses, you can take exams for the Master’s Degree Course, but your enrolment will be finalised when registration opens for the academic year 2026/2027.
Procedure for students about to graduate at the University of Pisa
Students about to graduate
They can apply for admission once they have obtained their degree. .
Graduates
If they already hold a Bachelor’s Degree, they must log into Ammissionelm and choose between:
- standard enrolment, if they hold a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent degree
- university transfer, if they are currently enrolled in a degree course at another Italian university
- career shortening, if they already hold a degree of the same level (e.g. Master’s, Second Degree or pre-reform degrees)
It is not necessary to upload qualifications already obtained at the University of Pisa.
However, they can upload additional documents that could support the evaluation of their admission application (e.g. self-certifications of qualifications obtained at other universities, self-certifications of exams taken in different academic careers at other universities, language or computer certifications, provided they comply with Law 183/2011). All self-certifications must be signed.
If their qualification was obtained abroad, they must also upload the documents required by the ministerial provisions/MUR provisions.
Some Master’s Degree Courses require additional requirements.

Procedure for graduates from other universities
If you graduated from another university, for enrolment in a Master’s degree course you must:
1.Register in the Alice portal:
-
- enter your personal data
- upload a passport photo in electronic format under the section called Anagrafica – Upload foto (please check photo format requirements)
- enter a copy of an identity document in the Secretariat – Identity Documents section
- enter your secondary school diploma details in the Segreteria – Titoli di studio section
- enter your degree details in the Segreteria – Titoli di studio section. If you have not yet graduated, skip this step to complete your registration.
- If you are a non-EU resident student, please upload a copy of your residence permit in accordance with Article 39, paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree No. 286 of 25 July 1998.
- If you are a non-EU, non-resident student, you must first access the portal www.universitaly.it and complete the pre-enrolment application, as explained on the page www.unipi.it/didattica/iscrizioni/immatricolazioni-e-iscrizioni/iscrizioni-per-studenti-internazionali/laurea-magistrale-cittadinanza-non-europea
You do not need to select a degree course in the “Scelta del corso (Immatricolazioni)” section, as Master’s degree courses are not listed. Your application must first be evaluated by the Board of the Master’s Degree Course.
- Access the Ammissionelm portal:
- You must use the same credentials as in the Alice portal.
- dovrai scegliere tra:
– standard enrolment, if they hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
– university transfer, if they are currently enrolled in a degree course at another Italian university
– career shortening, if they already hold a degree of the same level (e.g. Master’s, Second Degree or pre-reform degrees)
- You can upload additional documents that could support the evaluation of your admission application (e.g. language certificates, self-certifications of exams taken in different academic careers etc.) Self-certifications must be signed.
- Please also refer to the “Additional requirements” page to check whether you need to upload other documents for your chosen Master’s degree course. (N.B.: this is mandatory for Master’s degree courses in Linguistics and Translation, Euro-American Languages, Literatures and Philologies, Computer Science, Computer Science and Networking and for Master’s degree courses offered by the Department of Economics and Management).
If your degree was obtained abroad, you must include the documents required by the ministerial provisions of the MUR “Procedures for the entry, residence and enrolment of foreign/international students on higher education courses in Italy academic year 2024/2025”. Registration
Once your application is approved, proceed to confirm your registration:
- by paying the first instalment by 31 December 2025, or by uploading your scholarship receipt, or by uploading a document granting exemption from fees (certification of disability recognised as equal to or greater than 66%, or certification of disability with recognition of handicap pursuant to art. 3, para. 1 of Law 104/1992) on the Alice portal (sezione Segreteria – Dichiarazioni di invalidità)
- If the assessment of admission requirements has not been completed by 1 December 2025, you will have 30 days from the date of notification of the outcome to confirm your registration.
Enrolment in the Master’s Degree Course is completed when one the following conditions are met:
- If the verification of personal background and curricular requirements has been successfully completed: la verifica della personale preparazione e dei requisiti curriculari è positiva
- on the day following the award of the degree (only for students from the University of Pisa who requested early enrolment while applying for their Bachelor’s Degree)
- on the date of payment of the first instalment or submission of the documentation granting even temporary exemption from fees (for other students).
- If you took an interview/test and/or were enrolled in Transition Courses:
- on the date on which the curricular and/or personal preparation requirements were last fulfilled, but no later than 31 December 2024. After this date, enrolment in the Master’s Degree Course will be finalised with the opening of registrations for the academic year 2025/2026 and your application may be re-evaluated based on the courses offered in the same academic year.
Training activities completed in previous academic careers or during Transition Courses cannot be recognised as part of the Master’s Degree Course if they were required to meet admission requirements.
Tuition fees and Reductions

If, by 1 December 2025, you have not yet received the outcome of the assessment of your curricular requirements and/or personal preparation, and you have already confirmed your enrolment, you may still apply for a tuition fee reduction within 30 days of receiving the outcome.
The first instalment, if already paid, will be refunded in the following cases:
- negative outcome of the personal preparation evaluation, with no possibility of fulfilling the requirements through Transition Courses;
- student’s decision to withdraw from enrolment in the proposed Transition Courses;
- lack of curricular requirements exceeding 40 CFUs;
- withdrawal from studies submitted either before the evaluation of curricular requirements and/or personal preparation or within 15 days of the completion of enrolment.
Reimbursement of the first instalment will not be granted if the payment was required to obtain the Bachelor’s Degree.
Student Card
By enrolling at the University of Pisa, you will receive the Student Card, which grants access to university services such as canteens and the electronic wallet.

Withdrawal of application
If you have not yet confirmed your registration, you can withdraw your application via the Admission Portal. If your registration has already been confirmed, you must submit a formal withdraw from studies in order to cancel it.
