Summary of the scientific interest
My main research interest consists of investigating the formation and evolution of early galaxies. I study the chemical, mechanical, and radiative feedback regulating the interaction between the intergalactic and interstellar medium, focusing on how such complex interplay shapes the properties of galaxies in the early Universe.

Research

Research interests

I work on several topics in theoretical astrophysics and cosmology. My main research interest is investigating the formation and evolution of galaxies in the Epoch of Reionization. I study the chemical, mechanical, and radiative feedback regulating the interaction between the intergalactic and interstellar medium, with particular attention to how such complex interplay shapes the properties of the early galaxies and their internal structure, down to molecular cloud scales, the birthplace of stars. I develop theoretical models based on refined, cosmological, radiation hydrodynamical simulations that are used to predict the properties and the emission of galaxies in the early Universe: such a comparison is vital to understanding current observations, possibly guiding future surveys and instruments, and thus in turn to constrain theoretical models and hence improve our understanding of the early Universe.
