The University Quality Assurance Unit is responsible for overseeing the proper and consistent implementation of Quality Assurance (QA) procedures in educational and research activities.
The tasks, functioning and composition of the University Quality Assurance Unit are defined in art. 20 ter of the Statute (as amended on 30 March 2024):
- The Quality Assurance Unit monitors and supervises the implementation of quality assurance procedures on the basis of the guidelines provided by the University governing bodies.
- The Quality Assurance Unit:
- Promotes, activates and supports information and training initiatives to disseminate the culture of quality and ensures its continuous improvement within the University;
- Ensures interaction with the Evaluation Unit and the correct flow of information between all internal and external stakeholders;
- Advises the University governing bodies on quality assurance issues with a view to developing and implementing quality improvement policies in all areas of activity;
- Provides advice, support and monitoring to the University structures in order to promote and develop improvement actions, including in the light of the
- Evaluation Unit’s Annual Report;
- Suggests methods, tools and procedures to achieve quality assurance objectives, supports their implementation and reviews their effectiveness;
- Reports to the governing bodies on its performance and on the implementation of quality assurance procedures at the University.
- The University Quality Assurance Unit is composed of six lecturers, one for each of the cultural sectors referred to in Article 13, appointed by decree of the Rector, on designation of the Academic Senate; a representative of the students and a representative of the doctoral students indicated by the Student Council; and the Head of the Directorate responsible for the subject, or their delegate. The Quality Assurance Unit is chaired by a lecturer chosen by the Rector from among its members. The term of office of the members shall be three years, except for the term of office of the student representatives and doctoral students, which shall be two years, renewable for one consecutive term.
