The University of Pisa is not a campus-based university and instead has its buildings and departments spread throughout the city. In terms of accommodation, students usually find housing through the city's many estate agents or by checking out postings placed on notice boards in each of the University's departments. Students often share an apartment with other Italian or international students. The cost of renting a room is roughly 250.00/350.00 euros per month excluding the cost of utilities and the individual share of general expenses for the building's maintenance.
In addition to this, students and guests of the University of Pisa are now able to benefit from a series of discounts and promotions on accommodation prices, thanks to agreements made by the University. Special rates are offered by Residence Le Benedettine.
Amongst the numerous other facilities in Pisa, University students and guests can also find rooms at Hostel Pisa Villa Giulia, at Residence Tulipan, at Residence I Praticelli, at the Studentato Universitario San Giuseppe and at the Pensionato Universitario "Giuseppe Toniolo".

DSU Toscana
DSU (Regional "Right to Study" Programme) provides various services to University students and offers assistance to students who are searching for accommodation in Pisa. DSU also offers places from their own accommodation facilities to students who are living away from home and who meet certain financial requirements.
“Cerco Alloggio” (Find your accomodation) is another service that has been recently activated to find accommodation for students. It is funded by the Regione Toscana and the ARDSU (the Regional Programme for the "Right to Study"). It is a web-based application available on the homepage of the DSU Agency website helping students of the Tuscan universities to find accommodation (shared rooms, single rooms or
flats) in Firenze, Pisa or Siena.
HousingAnywhere
The University of Pisa is a partner of HousingAnywhere.com the international student-to-student housing platform. Students who are coming from abroad to Pisa can find and book room on HousingAnywhere.com/Pisa.The rooms on this platform are offered by our students that go abroad for a study abroad semester, exchange, Erasmus or internship. Using the platform to search for a room is completely free. When making a concrete booking, an administrative fee (about €75) is charged as part of Housing Anywhere's secure booking system.
