The postgraduate degree course addresses the growing importance of swallowing disorders in the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic-rehabilitative fields, both in developmental age and in adult and geriatric age.

The aim is to provide the necessary skills in the following fields:

  • anatomy and physiology of swallowing in developmental, adult and geriatric age
  • clinical semiotics and main instrumental and imaging techniques for the study of swallowing
  • intervention strategies for swallowing disorders in neonatal, developmental and geriatric age
  • orthodontic conditions related to dysphagia
  • neurogenic and gastroesophageal dysphagia
  • dysphagia in pulmonary and critical care patients
  • post-surgical dysphagia
  • dysphagia in patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment
  • presbyphagia
  • dysphagia in psychiatric and pediatric neuropsychiatric patients
  • rehabilitation pathways for different types of dysphagia
  • innovative rehabilitation techniques
  • speech therapy assessment for the various forms of dysphagia
  • diagnostic-instrumental pathways for the assessment of dysphagia
  • myofunctional therapy

Swallowing disorders are emerging as a distinct field with dedicated professionals, and the demand for their expertise is growing in both public and private sectors.

Regular students:

2200 € payable in 3 instalments

  • 880 € no later than 06 January 2025
  • 700 € no later than 15 April 2025
  • 620 € no later than 15 June 2025

Tuition fee reductions are available for 3 students, awarded based on income and merit criteria.
