The postgraduate degree course provides nursing staff with the knowledge, skills and technical-relational abilities necessary to plan, manage and evaluate the care process related to transfusion medicine and therapeutic apheresis. In particular, the postgraduate degree course allows students to:

  • understand the techniques of therapeutic apheresis and the clinical indications for various treatments provided by the regional and supra-regional referral centres
  • enhance the process of the peripheral blood stem cell transplant programme
  • manage the nursing care process by assuming a leadership role and acting as a point of reference in ensuring continuity of the care pathway between hospital and community, in collaboration with the individual receiving care, their family and the broader social-work context
  • promote the education and improvement of lifestyles for both the patient and their family members (caregivers)
  • offer guidance and collaborate with both intra- and extra-departmental operational units
  • participate in the design and implementation of training activities for healthcare staff.

Career opportunities

The postgraduate degree course trains nurses to work in the field of transfusion medicine and therapeutic apheresis, with employment opportunities in public and private healthcare facilities.

  • 360 € no later than 15 June 2025

Tuition fee reductions are available for 2 students, awarded based on income and merit criteria.
