The postgraduate degree course trains skilled professionals in the field of sports rehabilitation, capable of dealing with athletes’ rehabilitation with a high level of expertise.
The training programme is characterised by many hours of practical activities, focusing on various aspects: from the understanding of human anatomy and biomechanics — including study at the sectoral table — with a focus on diagnostic imaging, to the surgical techniques used to treat the main anatomical areas injured during sports practice.
Some modules are dedicated to post-surgical recovery, correct application of manual rehabilitation techniques, guidelines on the use of instrumental physical therapies and aquatic rehabilitation. Particular attention is given to manual techniques, sports massage, trigger point treatment, fibrolysis, spinal manipulation, as well as functional taping in its various forms.
At the end of the training programme, the physiotherapist will be able to perform both functional and post-surgical treatments.
Career opportunities
Thanks to the skills acquired, graduates will have the opportunity to work in both private and public sectors, in all organisations involved in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. They will be able to assess and manage the different stages of rehabilitation, applying the most modern and up-to-date protocols.
