Interessi di ricerca

Marco Carlotti received his MSc in Inorganic Chemistry (cum laude) from the University of Pisa (Italy). He then moved on to the University of Groningen (The Netherlands) where he obtained a PhD in Molecular Electronics under the supervision of Prof. R.C. Chiechi in 2019. In the same year, he moved beack to Italy to the Center for Material Interfaces (former Center for MicroBioRobotics) of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (Italy) where he investigated novel functional materials and techniques for 3D-microfabrication via two-photon processes and, from 2021, as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellow, developed conjugated polymer precursors of interest under the EU funded project 'MultiPotent Polymer Precursors' (MP3).
Since September 2022, Marco is Assistant Professor (RTDA) at the Dipartimento di Chimica e Chimica Industriale of the University of Pisa where he collaborates on several research activities promoted by EU and national funding as well as collaboration with local and national industrial partners, and he is PI of a national project (POLiBATT). His main lines of research include:

Sustainable and functional polymeric systems for the energy sector
Polymeric precursors for application in organic electronics and organic-metal ion batteries
Soft responsive materials with visual feedback for mechanical monitoring and soft robotics
Innovative materials and microfabrication strategies employing 3D-microlithography
