EDUCATION

Daniele Fanteria earned his Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Pisa in 1997, at the same University, in 2001, he obtained a PhD in Aerospace Engineering with a Thesis titled: “Models of Tyre Dynamics for the simulation of aircraft ground manoeuvres”.

ACADEMICS
In the period 2001-2003 Dr. Fanteria held post-doc and research scholarships from the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Aerospaziale of the University of Pisa. Since January 2004 he has been Assistant professor of Aerospace Structures at the Faculty of Engineering and from 2012 at the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile e Industriale.
Dr. Fanteria obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor in 2017 and in July 2019 has been appointed Associate Professor of Aerospace Structures at the University of Pisa. In 2022 he has achieved the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Full Professor.
Since December 2021 he is the National Delegate for Italy at the International Council on Aeronautical Fatigue.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Research Topics
Dr. Fanteria’s major research topics include fatigue and fracture of aircraft structures, methods for the analysis and design of metal and composite aerostructures, methods and tools for the simulation of impact damage on composite structures, onset, and growth of delamination in laminated composites. Dr. Fanteria’s scientific activity is documented by papers published on journals or presented in national and international conferences.
Research projects
2004-present Dr. Fanteria has been collaborating in many research projects founded by private companies (Leonardo Aerostructures,
Leonardo Helicopters, Airbus Deutschland, Piaggio Aero Industries, Thales Alenia Space) and Agencies (Italian Ministry
of Education, University and Research, European Union).
2015-2023 Dr. Fanteria has been the coordinator of the research group of the University of Pisa within AIRGREEN2 Cluster, that in
2015 won the Call for Core Partners H2020-CleanSky2 JTI-CS2 CPW1-REG-01-02 (work area leader: Leonardo).
