The interuniversity desk in Pisa against gender-based violence celebrates its third anniversary

On 5 June, Palazzo Vitelli lights up in purple, the colour symbolising the fight against all forms of discrimination and violence.

On the occasion of the third anniversary of the establishment of the Pisa Interuniversity Desk against gender violence, on Thursday, 5 June, at 8:00 pm, Palazzo Vitelli will be illuminated in purple, the identifying colour of the Help Desk and a symbol of the fight against all forms of discrimination and violence.

The evening will continue at 9 p.m. at the Cineclub Arsenale, where the free screening of “Una donna fantastica” by Sebastián Lelio will take place, closing the 3rd edition of the film festival entitled “Un altro genere di cinema”.

“The illumination of the façade of the University of Pisa’s central administration headquarters sends a clear message: the need to strengthen a culture of respect for human rights and the appreciation of diversity,” explains Professor Renata Pepicelli, the Rector’s Delegate for gender issues. She adds that the Help Desk is the result of a collaborative effort between the University of Pisa, the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, and the Scuola Normale Superiore, in partnership with the Casa della Donna of Pisa—an initiative that is a source of great pride.”

The service, managed by professionals from the Casa della Donna in Pisa, is free, anonymous, and does not require individuals to file a report. The Help Desk can be reached by phone at 050 2215104 or via email at  antiviolenza@ateneipisa.it.
