Pre-enrollment at the Italian Embassy

Before enrolling in an Italian University, you need to download the Pre-enrollment forms from the Ministry of Education's website (italian version: Modello A; english version: Form A).

After filling the forms out, you must take them to the Italian Embassy or Consulate in your country which you may find at the following website by typing your country name: Ministero degli Affari Esteri - Ambasciate.

You may apply to only one Italian university and for only one course of studies. The competent Italian embassy/consulate is the authority responsible for accepting your pre-application request and making sure it meets the necessary requirements to obtain a "Study Visa".

They will then transmit the list of accepted applicants to the University of Pisa by e-mail, return all required documentation to each applicant, and provide information about the admission exam.

The number of places available is established every academic year by the Italian universities and published on the Ministry of Education's website (MIUR). There you will also find any details concerning the validity of qualifications obtained abroad and the procedures for the pre-application. Please pay particular attention to the updated attachment 1 and attachment 2.

The deadline for the pre-application for the academic year 2019/2020 is the 24th July 2019.

If the pre-application is successful, candidates must then apply for an entry visa for study purposes through either the Embassy or the Italian consulate, which permits the candidates to sit a mandatory Italian language test. For the academic year 2019/2020, the Italian language exam will be held on the 2nd September 2019, in Pisa, at the Language Center (CLI) of the University of Pisa, via Santa Maria, 89, Lab 8, ground floor.
Attention: A TOURISM visa is not valid for enrollment at the university.

After having passed the Italian language exam, candidates must:
