University of Pisa celebrated March 14, Pi Day, with an original and spectacular tribute: a gigantic Pi symbol traced by a next-generation robotic lawn mower.
The design takes shape on a 4-hectare lawn in San Piero a Grado (Pisa). Thanks to its size, the symbol is visible from above, even from airplanes or satellites. The effect is striking: a vast green surface transforms into a mathematical sign that is immediately recognizable, combining scientific rigor with strong visual impact.
The initiative features a robot used in the research activities of CeRTES – Centro Ricerche Tappeti Erbosi Sportivi.
