Today a professor of Veterinary Sciences Department, informed the Rector and the Department Director that he has tested positive to Coronavirus.
An immediate epidemiological investigation by the Local Healthcare Service (ASL – Azienda Sanitaria Locale), turned out that the professor, in a very short stay in the Department, only visited administrative offices in Viale delle Piagge n. 2, and has not carried out any in-presence educational activities.
At the moment, the required evaluations the Ministerial directives provide for, are still ongoing. The UNIPI institutional website will promptly publish any further update.
The Rector immediately ordered an extra precautionary sanitization of the Department areas the professor visited. The establishment will, therefore, remain closed until Monday 9 March 2020, to allow the contractor in charge carrying out the work.
