Maestro Manfred Giampietro awarded the Gold Prize at the Debussy International Music Competition

Maestro Manfred Giampietro, conductor of the University of Pisa Orchestra, has received the Gold Prize at the Debussy International Music Competition in the Original Composition category for his piece “La Terza Italia”, an anthem to Giuseppe Mazzini set to a text by Giosuè Carducci.

In addition to conducting the orchestra, Manfred Giampietro is the organizational director of the “M. Antonella Galanti” Music Center at the Center for Innovation and the Dissemination of Culture (CIDIC), and teaches Music for Film in the Degree Program in Performing Arts and Communication Studies.
