Workshop in collaborazione con il Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Venerdì 9 e sabato10 dicembre, presso la sala H del Centro Congressi Le Benedettine, avrà luogo il workshop internazionale “Im/material Values: Constraints and Opportunities Within the Textile and Apparel Marketplace from Historical Perspective” a conclusione del programma di ricerca UNIPI-MIT Project VII call (2018-2022) intitolato “Waves of Globalization, Between Tradition and Innovation: Fashion and Textile Manufacturing in Italy and the United States”, realizzato dalla Prof.ssa Valeria Pinchera per l’Università di Pisa e dalla Prof.ssa Anne McCants, and Dott.sa Ellan Spero, per il Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Il workshop grazie al supporto organizzativo e finanziario dell’Università di Pisa, del Massachusetts Institute of Technology e del Dipartimento di Economia e Management, vede la partecipazione dei principali esperti a livello internazionale degli studi di storia economica e sociale riguardo ai sistemi di produzione e consumo dei settori del tessile e dell’abbigliamento, provenienti da diversi paesi (Australia, Francia, Germania, Olanda, Italia, e Stati Uniti), che presenteranno e discuteranno i risultati delle loro recenti ricerche, ai fini della pubblicazione di uno special issue della rivista The Journal of Interdisciplinary History (MIT press), diretta dalla Prof.ssa Anne Mc Cants.
