2018 saw the introduction of the direct call "incentivized by the University", subsequently confirmed for the 2019-2021 period in terms of staff points as associate / full professor, for a maximum number of 6 European Research Council (ERC) grant winners from any institution in the world that choose the University of Pisa as Host Institution, that are not yet more than one year into their project and that undertake to transfer to the University of Pisa a residual budget not less than 50% of the total amount of the grant (resolution SA n.117 of 17/05/2019 and resolution of the Board n.179 of 31 May 2019).
