Admission to a 2nd level Degree Programme

EU citizens - or non-EU citizens who officially reside in Italy - interested in enrolling in a Master's degree programme at the University of Pisa must connect to the website Portale Alice, register their personal data and the selected Degree Programme, then follow the instructions (available only in Italian).

They must then bring the following documents to the WIS! (Welcome International Students!) Office by no later than 29th December, 2017:

  • the original version or an authenticated copy of Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of a first level academic degree, officially translated into Italian and legalized by the Italian authorities in the country in which they were issued (or with Apostille). Please include a photocopy.
  • the Declaration of Value (DV) of your Bachelor’s degree, issued by the Italian authorities in your country. Please include a photocopy. Alternatively, you could bring the ENIC-NARIC certificate.
  • an official University transcript with a list of courses taken, legalized and translated into Italian (Diploma supplement if available)
  • a description of each course taken written on the University's official letterhead stationary or validated with the University stamp
  • passport photo;
  • a special stamp (marca da bollo) of 16 euros (which you can buy at a "Tabacchino" shop)
  • photocopy of your passport or identification card (you must bring the original passport or if you are an European citizen, ID card to show);
  • copy of the Residency Permit (only for non E.U. citizens);
  • receipt of payment of the first instalment: € 407.00 (issued to the postcode no. 150565 and addressed to the University of Pisa, description: RA117) or the receipt of your application to a DSU scholarship in case you meet the necessary criteria.

PLEASE note that in order to enrol in a Master’s degree programme or to request recognition of some of your previous courses, the academic committee of the selected programme may additionally ask you for the course descriptions. For more information, please visit:

It is also important to know that:

• If you enrol in a Master’s degree programme (laurea magistrale), admission depends on the possession of specific academic requirements. To learn about these requirements, please visit the webpages which contain this information as well as the list of degree programmes available, and look for the section which corresponds to the degree you are interested in. If you need a preliminary assessment of your current degree, you may send an email to the President of the degree programme you are interested in.

• If you enrol in a degree programme taught in English (Master's degree), we recommend you visit the dedicated webpage to learn about the procedure, deadlines and academic requests necessary for admission.

• You may directly ask the President of the degree programme if you can submit your University transcript with all the courses taken as well as the content description of each course in the original language.

Please note that, without exception, you must submit all documents to the WIS! in their original format with their corresponding photocopy accompanied by an official translation into Italian and legalized (or with an Apostille).

For the a.y. 2017/2018, the WIS! office will be open starting on 27th July until 4th August and then from 23th August until 6th October from 9am to noon.

The deadline to complete the enrolment procedure for the a.y. 2017/2018 is 2nd October, 2017. It will still be possible to enrol until 29th December, 2017
