{"id":273605,"date":"2025-02-14T10:20:07","date_gmt":"2025-02-14T10:20:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unipi.it\/education\/student-offices\/career-management\/interruption-and-withdrawal\/rinuncia-agli-studi\/"},"modified":"2026-07-07T14:31:43","modified_gmt":"2026-07-07T12:31:43","slug":"withdrawal-from-studies","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.unipi.it\/en\/education\/student-offices\/career-management\/interruption-and-withdrawal\/withdrawal-from-studies\/","title":{"rendered":"Withdrawal from studies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Withdrawal from studies is the act by which a student formally declares their intention to end their university career.<\/p>\n<p>Before proceeding, make sure your tuition fees are up to date: if you withdraw from your studies, you must pay any instalments that have fallen due by the date on which you submit your application, for all the academic years in which you were enrolled at the University of Pisa.<\/p>\n<p>Consult the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unipi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/tabella-rinuncia-26_27.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> table<\/a> with details on fees due, exemptions and refunds.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Attention<\/strong>: if you are an international student who came to Italy with a study visa and are already enrolled at an Italian university, and you apply for withdrawal from your current studies in order to enroll again at the same or another university, you will not be able to use the residence permit for study purposes issued for your previous enrollment. A new study visa will be required.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>How to submit a withdrawal:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studenti.unipi.it\/Home.do\">Alice, the online services portal of the University of Pisa<\/a><\/li>\n<li>access your reserved area<\/li>\n<li>in the \u201cCareer\u201d section, select \u201cApplication to withdraw from studies\u201d (Degree courses)<\/li>\n<li>follow the guided procedure and upload: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unipi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Modulo_rinuncia_WEB_2026_rev.rtf\">withdrawal form<\/a>, a copy of your identity document, and a copy of the Training Logbook (where required)<\/li>\n<li>at the end of the procedure, pay the EUR 16 stamp duty; the PagoPA slip will be available in \u201cStudent Office \u2192 Fees\u201d in your profile<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-contrast=\"auto\">mine della procedura paga l\u2019imposta di bollo di euro <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">16: il PagoPa sar\u00e0 disponibile nella sezione Segreteria &#8211; Tasse del proprio profilo.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Without payment of the virtual stamp duty, the application is invalid, and any fees will continue to accrue<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>only after the payment will the Student Office process your application and verify your administrative status<\/li>\n<li>before the application is processed (i.e. before payment of stamp duty), you may cancel it by clicking \u201cDelete\u201d<\/li>\n<li>you will receive a notification in your institutional e-mail inbox with the final outcome<\/li>\n<li>payment of the stamp duty is non-refundable, even if you cancel the application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the stamp duty is not paid by the deadline, the application will be cancelled: you will need to submit a new withdrawal, re-uploading all required documents.<\/p>\n<p>For regulated-admission degree courses, withdrawal means you lose the right to resume or reactivate your academic career for that course, unless you have completed all required exams or you are placed in a qualifying position in the related admission competition.<\/p>\n<h2>Withdrawing an application for admission to Master\u2019s degree courses<\/h2>\n<p>If you have been admitted to a Master\u2019s degree course or to the Single Transition Courses and have not yet confirmed enrolment, you may withdraw your application directly via the<a href=\"https:\/\/ammissionelm.adm.unipi.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> ammissionelm portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Fees due in the event of withdrawal<\/h2>\n<p>A student who submits a withdrawal application must pay all instalments due on the date of submission, for all academic years in which they have been enrolled at the University of Pisa.<br \/>\nAccrued late-payment penalties that have not been paid are not due; if already paid, they will not be refunded.<\/p>\n<p>A student enrolled in academic year 2026\/2027 who has applied for a DSU scholarship:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>if awaiting the outcome or declared not eligible, must pay the enrolment instalment before their academic career can be closed<\/li>\n<li>if already awarded a scholarship, must pay the EUR 16 stamp duty for the enrolment application, if it was not paid at the time of enrolment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For further details on fees due, exemptions and refunds, see the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unipi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/tabella-rinuncia-26_27.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dedicated table<\/a>\u00a0or contact the University Contributions and Accounting Unit at serviziotasse@unipi.it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/alboufficiale.unipi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Allegato-1_dr-emanazione_signed_prot.pdf\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cProcedures and deadlines\u201d academic year 2026\/2027<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/alboufficiale.unipi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/DR_semestre-filtroMP.pdf\">Rector\u2019s Decree No. 1050 of July 25, 2025, which sets out the procedures and deadlines for withdrawal from the filter semester<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unipi.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Regolamento_tasse_2026-2027-1.pdf\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Regulations on student contributions for academic year 2026\/2027<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335559738&quot;:240,&quot;335559739&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Withdrawal from studies is the act by which a student formally declares their intention to end their university career.
