In fact, joining the University is a crucial step towards achieving their autonomy.<\/p>\n<p>The service also intends to coordinate initiatives aimed at preventing psychological distress, particularly for students in their first two years.<\/p>\n<h2>Beneficiaries<\/h2>\n<p>The service is aimed at students who are experiencing difficulties related to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>integration in the university context;<\/li>\n<li>organisation of their time and study methods;<\/li>\n<li>relationships with colleagues and\/or lecturers;<\/li>\n<li>concentration, anxiety, inefficiency and loss of motivation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Objectives<\/h2>\n<p>Provide students with the help of experienced and qualified people to understand, address and overcome these difficulties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>by creating a space for listening and clarification;<\/li>\n<li>by finding appropriate strategies to manage the discomfort associated with the university experience;<\/li>\n<li>by making the student more capable of dealing with their own difficulties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Organisation<\/h2>\n<p>The Listening and Counselling Service offers three types of services:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Individual programmes<\/strong>: Short interview sessions of approximately 45 minutes each. The purpose of the interviews is to understand the student\u2019s motivation for engaging in the service, provide appropriate support and foster growth and self-awareness.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Group programmes<\/strong>: 8 sessions per week, 90 minutes each. During the meetings, various techniques are suggested to strengthen skills to manage anxiety, alleviate emotional distress, implement social and interpersonal skills, and promote psychological well-being.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Seminars<\/strong> focused on motivation, study methods and exam anxiety.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Booking methods<\/h2>\n<p>To book your <strong>first meeting<\/strong> you are required to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log in to the virtual desk using the same credentials as those used for the Alice portal;<\/li>\n<li>Select the day and time in the virtual calendar in the \u201cAppointment booking\u201d section &#8211; \u201cListening and psychological counselling service\u201d desk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The system allows you to book up to a maximum of 15 days in advance; if it is not possible to book a meeting within this period, it means that the available dates are already taken<\/em>.<br \/>\nAt the end of the first meeting, you will decide how to proceed (individual or group programme). Any subsequent meetings will be arranged directly with the operators.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To attend the seminars<\/strong>, you must register online at the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/prenotazione-eventi.unipi.it\">Orientation and Student Support Events<\/a><\/em> portal under the <em>Seminars heading of the Listening Service<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2>Psychological counselling procedures<\/h2>\n<p>Interviews are currently being conducted via Skype. Students who have booked their first appointment through the <a href=\"http:\/\/sportellovirtuale.unipi.it\/\">virtual calendar<\/a> will be contacted by the psychologist, who will provide them with the necessary information on how to attend the meeting.
