From \u201cmathematical ice cream\u201d to meetings with lecturers and tutors, the University of Pisa is launching the first edition of its Freshers\u2019 Days<\/em>, a new initiative designed to welcome students beginning their academic journey. Running from 11 September to 27 October 2025, across all departments and in the Schools of Engineering and Medicine<\/strong>, newly enrolled students will be at the centre of activities aimed at easing their transition into university life. Each programme is tailored to the characteristics of the individual degree courses, combining presentations of services and meetings with lecturers and administrative staff with more informal moments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Alongside the academic activities, there will be initiatives to foster a sense of community<\/strong>: from free ice cream for newly enrolled students of Mathematics to the welcome buffet hosted by the Department of Civilisation and Forms of Knowledge, and the games and social events that will accompany the traditional Freshers\u2019 Party<\/em> of the Department of Earth Sciences. \u201cWe want the start of university life to be a positive and shared experience. Welcoming those arriving today at the University of Pisa means taking care of their future,\u201d said Giovanni Paoletti<\/strong>, Vice-Rector for Teaching. \u201cThe Freshers\u2019 Days are intended as a gesture of attention and closeness: an invitation to feel part of a community that is not only a place of study, but also of dialogue and personal growth<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the welcome activities get underway, enrolments remain open until 30 September<\/strong> (after that, late registrations will still be possible on payment of a surcharge). Students can choose from 148 Degree courses\u2014Bachelor\u2019s, Master\u2019s and Single-cycle Degree courses\u2014across six academic areas: Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences, Humanities, Engineering, Medicine and Pharmacy, Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences, and Law, Economics and Social Sciences.<\/p>\n

For those needing assistance with the enrolment process, a dedicated mobile number is available at 331 6614802, and until 16 October an information desk<\/strong><\/a> will be open by appointment at the Fibonacci Centre. International students<\/strong> can also book an appointment at the\u00a0<\/em>Welcome International Students (WIS!)<\/strong><\/a>.
