Education
Prof. Nicola Vitiello received the MSc degree in Biomedical Engineering (cum laude) from the University of Pisa, Italy, on 2006, and from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA), Pisa, Italy, on 2007. He also received the PhD degree in Biorobotics from SSSA, on 2010.

Academic/professional career
- January 2007-December 2010: PhD student at the former ARTS Lab (now The BioRobotics Institute) of SSSA.
- December 2010-May 2012: Post-doc fellow at The BioRobotics Institute of SSSA.
- May 2012-present: Head of Wearable Robotics Laboratory, The BioRobotics Institute, SSSA.
- January 2014-present: Co-coordinator of the MARE Lab, a joint laboratory between The BioRobotics Institute and Fondazione Don Gnocchi in Florence.
- May 2016-present: Advisor of the IEEE RAS Technical Committee on Wearable Robots.
- August 2017-present: Director, and Business Development and Innovation Advisor of IUVO Srl, a spin-off company of SSSA.

Scientific journal/ conference papers, and book chapters
Prof. Vitello is author/co-author of more than 60 ISI/Scopus papers, of more than 40 conference papers with peer review and of 7 book chapters.
