Gilberto Saccorotti is a research director at the National Institute for Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) in Pisa, Italy. He got a MS degree in Geological Sciences
at the University of Firenze and a PhD in Geophysics and Volcanology at the University of Napoli. His researches mainly account for seismic sources and wavefields
associated with fluid-rock interaction of either natural or anthropogenic origin. He was scientist-in-charge of INGV’s department in Pisa, and a member of INGV’s
Board of Directors. Presently, he coordinates INGV’s Center for Monitoring of Subsoil Activities, and chairs the Consortium Board of EPOS Thematic Core Service
‘Anthropogenic Hazards’. GS authored more than 100 papers on international, peer-reviewed journals.
