Current research

Computer modeling and enginering of Graphene-based materials:
• 3D porous disordered materials design as adsorbers or sorter of gases, fluids and electrolytes
• Coarse Grained models for thermo-electric ionic polymers
• Graphene-derived materials (e.g. rGO, supported/stretched graphene, …) as precursors for novel materials with advanced functionalization for applications in the clean energy cycles, pollution prevention, nano-bio-medical applications
• Composite graphene/semi-conductor layered materials (e.g. WS2): electronic and rheologic properties

Multi-scale modeling Biomolecular Systems:

• Multi-scale modeling of interaction between functionalized metal nanoparticles and amyloidogenic proteins
• Simulation of structural transitions in switchable and multi-stable proteins with low resolution models
• Fundamental studies of transferability and accuracy of minimalist models for proteins
• Multi-scale approach study of chimeric protein constructs
• Nano-porous carbon materials from bio-molecules: pirolization of ovalbummin
• Multi-scale study of molecular radiobiological effects
