The University of Pisa promotes health and well-being in work and learning environments, in line with Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being. Its initiatives aim to prevent accidents and occupational diseases, reduce stress and burnout, safeguard the physical and mental health of the University community, and create inclusive, safe and sustainable environments.

The University promotes health and well-being through its Health, Safety and Environment Office, which coordinates risk prevention in workplaces and University facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations on safety, hygiene and the management of special waste. The Office provides staff with support, procedures and training to foster safe and sustainable study and research environments.

Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being

Towards a Smoke-Free University 2028

CoSA has launched the “Towards a Smoke-Free University 2028” campaign, demonstrating a concrete commitment to transforming the University into a healthier, safer and more sustainable environment. The goal is to achieve a completely smoke-free campus by 2028. As part of the “Smoke Signals” project, smart smoking areas will also be introduced, where cigarette butts are collected and recycled.
