Marco Cei

I was born in Livorno, Italy, on 27 december 1959.
After high school I graduated in Medicine with honors in 1985 and earned Hematology specialty in 1989, both at the University of Pisa, Italy.
I served as Medical Officier of the Italian Navy from 1986 to 1997, mainly at the Navy Hospital of La Spezia, Dept of Medicine, Allergology and Pneumology.
From 1994 to 1996 I was Director of the Navy Blood Bank at La Spezia, Italy. During that period I graduated in Transfusion Medicine at the University Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France.
In 1997 I left the Navy and began to work as internist at the Civil Hospital of Livorno; starting from April 1st, 2009, I'm Director, First General Medicine Ward.
I have coauthored many papers, in Italian and International leading medical journals, 82 of which are indexed in PubMed [please see at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=cei+m for the full list]. IF = 590.16 [https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Marco_Cei]
I'm Associate of Journal of Hematology Research, Jacobs Journal of Pulmonology, Global Journal of Infectious Disease and Clinical Research, and a member of Advisory Board of OA Case Reports - London, UK. I'm honorary fellow of the Federazione Associazioni Dirigenti Ospedalieri Internisti (FADOI).
