Visa and Stay Permit
Insurance coverage
For insurance coverage, for medical care or hospital recovery, necessary to obtain a Uniform Schengen Visa, but also for certain National Visas, the following possibilities are foreseen:
- consular declaration that demonstrates the right to health assistance determined by an Accord between Italy and the Country of origin;
- foreign insurance cover, accompanied by a consular declaration of its validity in Italy, duration and forms of assistance provided for, the forms of assistance must not exclude the expenses for emergency hospital recovery neither neither to limit its amount.
- specific insurance policy with Italian organisations or companies that offer, in agreement with the Ministry of Health, the coverage of those risks; for other organisations or companies, that are not in agreement, the policy must be accompanied by a declaration of the insurance body that specifies the lack of limitations or exceptions to the tariffs established for the emergency hospital recovery for its entire duration;
- voluntary inscription to the National Health Service (when it is possible).
