Foreign Student Enrolment
The University of Pisa welcomes foreign students.
Enrolment to any first-cycle degree requires the holding of a secondary school (further education) qualification, whilst the second-cycle degrees call for a first-cycle degree diploma (the educational qualification is assessed by the study course council relevant to the presented application).
To profit from course attendance necessitates a good knowledge of Italian. It is possible to ascertain one's mastery of Italian at the Interdepartmental Language Centre that also offers Italian language courses for foreigners.
The admissions procedure varies according to the citizenship and conditions of residency of those concerned.

The admissions application is to be presented to the Italian Embassy or Consulate competent for the territory, in the period annually indicated by the relevant governmental memorandum. For academic year 2009/2010 from April 29th to May 30th.
Each study course has a quota reserved for not-EU./E.E.A citizens; the relevant information is available upon presentation of the application at the Italian Embassy or Consulate.
Prior to admission, it is necessary to pass a test of competence in the Italian language, which will be held on September 1st, 2009 - at 2.30 p.m.- in the Faculty of Ingegneria - Biennio Building, room (Aula) B 3.1 - Via Giunta Pisano, 28 - Pisa.

Application form has to be presented to the Italian Embassy or Consulate competent for the territory, at least one month earlier than the deadline for Italian citizens.

The admissions application has to be presented directly to the "Welcome International Students" Office within the terms annually established in the manifesto of studies.
Students from not EU./E.E.A countries must hold a Permit of Stay for: autonomous or subordinate employment, family reunification, religious, health and/or political motives.
The foreign educational qualifications must be provided with their official translation in Italian, consular authentication and declaration of validity, to be carried out at the Italian Embassy or Consulate competent for the territory.
The applicant is responsible for overseeing the official translation in Italian, which, if carried out by local translators must anyhow be corroborated by the Italian Delegation competent for the territory, which are available for any further information. If the official translation is performed in Italy, the applicant has to turn to district tribunals.
