Path: English / Students / Student services / Vocational training and careers' guidance apprenticeships
The "stage", or vocational training and careers' guidance apprenticeship, is a period of work experience within a company.
This work placement provides an important opportunity for those who have completed or are near completion of their course of studies: a firsthand experience of the work-place assists students in making their professional career choices.
The "stage" is set up on the basis of apposite agreements stipulated between the University of Pisa and the company or host organisation.
The work placement's duration, working hours, aims and methods are defined by the company's training project, which also identifies the University and company tutors responsible for monitoring the apprenticeship.
The University provides insurance cover for the apprentices for civil liability towards third parties and accidents in the work-place.
The apprentice can be issued with a written declaration on the skills and abilities obtained upon completion of the vocational training.
